Each year, we partner with Colorado River and Trails Expedition (CRATE) to provide this all-inclusive 6-day rowing trip on the Green River through one of the most remote areas in the lower 48 states.

This year’s trip will take place July 23-28! Tickets are still available.

This trip combines adventure with comfort and fun; enjoy delicious hot meals, sandy river beaches, and breathtaking stargazing every night.

As we travel through both Desolation and Gray Canyons, Tracy Aviary bird experts will identify and point out birds from each boat (with plenty of breaks for running rapids in inflatable kayaks, swimming, hikes, and visits to historical sites). View the eBird trip report to see which species were spotted on the last trip. The willows and cottonwoods along the river are full of Yellow-breasted Chats, Blue Grosbeaks, and Lazuli Buntings, while White-throated Swifts, Peregrine Falcons, and Golden Eagles soar along the canyon walls. Guests will also get the opportunity to help document rare species like Mexican Spotted Owls and Yellow-billed Cuckoos.

A portion of each trip ticket goes directly to the Tracy Aviary’s Conservation Science Program, and, if you are a Tracy Aviary member or have donated at least $100 to the Aviary, you can get a discounted rate of $1,450 (down from the usual $1,650).  We also take a breathtaking charter flight out to the put in, which is $200 in addition to the river trip cost.
